CONCERT TOURS & CHOIR TOURS IN KRAKOW

Dear Ewa
I am pleased to state that all 58 people in our Choir returned home safe and well from our wonderful visit to Krakow and the surrounding area. Please accept my sincere l thanks for your outstanding organisation of our visit.
I made so many changes to our original programme and yet you managed to remain both courteous, and accommodating to every demand I placed on you.
...
The visit to the salt mine was amazing and culminated in the choir enjoying the privilege of singing in the incredible underground cathedral, which must had the what was probably one of the best acoustics we have ever encountered either in the UK or on any of our Annual tours abroad.
The concert which you organised for us in the Basilica of Wadawice was another marvellous experience as was
our Concert in the town of Limanova, where we sang at a packed theatre, and helped to raise 8000 Zlotys for a child with underdeveloped limbs.
Finally thank you for organising our final evening on the boat on the river where we enjoyed a great sing song.
Thank you ever so much again on behalf of the entire choir for your splendid work in arranging our tour and I would be delighted to recommend your company to anyone in the UK wishing to visit your beautiful country.
Yours Sincerely
David, Port Talbot Cymric Choir, Morgan Wales, UK

Your concert performance in Krakow

Are you considering a trip and performance in Kraków - the city of Polish kings and our hometown. We recommend performing in one of the gothic, renaissance or baroque churches of the Old Town or any other historic interior, such as the synagogue in Kazimierz - the old Jewish district, the modern interior of The Lord's Ark Church in Nowa Huta or one of the underground chapels in the Salt Mines of Wieliczka. Perhaps it is a good idea to head to one of the smaller, picturesque spots in Kraków's area and perform in a romantic, wooden, medieval church or maybe in the basilica in Wadowice, where Karol Wojtyła, the future pope, was baptised. Maybe you are willing to express your emotions by performing a song of memory in the Auschwitz Museum. Kraków and its surroundings create various opportunities for your artistic expression.

An example of Krakow Choir Tour  programme:

Day 1.  Arrival
Arrival in Kraków. Our representative will await your group at the airport. Drive to hotel in the city centre. Time for relax and private experience of what old Kraków has to offer.
Dinner in one of the Old Town's restaurants

Day 2.  Krakow - guided tour, time for rehearsal, concert
Guided tour of the city before noon. During a three-hour walk you will see the most significant monuments of the old capital city of Poland: St. Mary's Church with Kraków's most valuable masterpiece - the great altar by the hand of the medieval craftsman Wit Stwosz, Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) - the old trading centre of the city with elegant arcades, Collegium Maius - 15th century building of the Jagiellonian University, a romantic gothic Church of St. Francis of Assisi with unique stained-glass windows. Following the charming Kanonicza Street, with renaissance tenement houses, we will eventually reach Wawel Hill with the Royal Castle - the old residence of the Polish Kings with an impressive, three-level courtyard and the Wawel Cathedral - coronation and burial place of the Polish Kings.
In the afternoon you will be given time for rehearsals before the concert and in the evening our bus will take you to the venue of the concert. After the concert it is best to discuss the impressions at a common table, reserved in one of the Kraków's restaurants

Day 3  Wieliczka - medieval salt mine, concert in the vicinity of Krakow, Old Polish feast
If it happens to be a Sunday, perhaps your performance could add splendour to a service in one of the Kraków's churches. Next we leave to the suburbs of Kraków to Wieliczka - medieval salt mine - salt city - with tens of kilometres of underground paths, halls, grottos and chapels carved in salt. In one of them, the chapel of St. Kinga, 150 metres under the ground, you will have an opportunity to try out the great acoustic parameters of this extraordinary concert hall.
From Wieliczka we will travel to one, previously accepted town in the vicinity of Kraków, to perform. To be perfectly honest, performing before audiences in smaller towns can be very rewarding as artists do not venture into these areas very often.   Our concert hall could be in castle halls or the inside of a wooden church, cloister refectory or a hall in the local community centre (depending on the town of your choosing). Time for a short rehearsal and the concert itself. After the concert we invite you to an Old Polish feast, perhaps with a fire, perhaps with a folk band, perhaps with... depending on what the area has to offer.
We return to Kraków in the evening

Day 4.  Auschwitz - Bireknau,  Wadowice, Kazimierz - old Jewish district of Krakow
Trip to the former extermination camp in Auschwitz - Birkenau. We can choose the route through Wadowice and visit the house where Karol Wojtyła, the future pope John Paul II, was born.  We can arrange a short concert in the local basilica. It is also possible to perform a mournful song in the Auschwitz Museum, as we will spend roughly 3 hours there. Perhaps you would like to give a concert to the citizens of Oświęcim (Auschwitz stands for Oświęcim in Polish), a multi-century city with 40 thousand inhabitants.
If you resign from the concert, you will have a free afternoon in Kraków, and for the willing - an alternative programme with a tour of Kazimierz - the old Jewish district of Kraków. Supper and concert of klezmer music in one of the restaurants in Kazimierz.

Day 5.
Day of farewell and homecoming, unless you want to stay a little longer
and, for example:
- excursion to Częstochowa - the most important place of religious cult for Polish Catholics - Paulinian Order monastery on Jasna Góra (Bright Mountain) with a miraculous icon of the Black Madonna, possible improvised performance,
- rafting in the picturesque gorge of the Dunajec river and performance before the visitors of the nearby health resort,
- visit to Zakopane - a well-known resort at the foot of Tatra mountains. In Zakopane we will travel with a funicular to the top of Gubałówka, where we will admire the wonderful panorama of the Tatra mountains, we will visit Chochołów - a wooden highlanders' village and we will take our time to wander around the city. A concert is possible in one of the churches in Zakopane. In the evening we invite you to a regional restaurant with highlanders' music and dancing.
