The World War II and Holocaust history are the main topics of our historical school trip to Krakow and Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum.

Gain a deep insight into the logic and topography of extermination. During the trip, we'll show you stages of the Holocaust from the first persecutions of Jews in Krakow occupied by Germans, through life in the Krakow ghetto, to industrial annihilation in gas chambers in Auschwitz death camp. 
Our programme includes: Krakow old town, the former ghetto in the Krakow - Podgorze district and Oskar Schindler Factory, Auschwitz-Birkenau full-day excursion, meeting with a witness to history.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Krakow
morning Arrival in Krakow. Transfer to your hotel and check-in.
afternoon “Krakow during the WW II and Holocaust” – a tour of the site of the former ghetto in the district of Podgórze. Program to include the site of memory at the Eagle Pharmacy, the remaining sections of the ghetto wall, the “empty chairs” memorial commemorating the extermination of Krakow’s Jews, and the exhibition “Krakow under Nazi occupation 1939-1945” in the former Oskar Schindler Factory.
evening Dinner and a concert of live Jewish music in a Jewish restaurant in Kazimierz.

Day 2 Auschwitz - Birkenau
morning “Auschwitz – The topography and logic of the Holocaust”: excursion to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and site of memory; two-part tour. Part I: Auschwitz I – Stammlager (the original camp): the exhibition in the prisoner blocks, the death block, the wall of death, and the only surviving gas chamber and crematorium. Part II: Auschwitz II – Birkenau, with the prisoners’ blocks and the ruins of the gas chambers and crematoria.
afternoon Return to Krakow.
evening Dinner in your hotel and a talk rounding off the visit to the Auschwitz Museum, or a meeting with a witness to history a survivor from the Krakow ghetto or one of the “Righteous among the Nations” – one of the people who helped Jews survive during the Holocaust.

Day 3 Krakow
morning “Krakow – the historical Polish city, between Nuremberg, Florence, Vienna and… Jerusalem” – a guided tour of Krakow’s Old Town. The program includes the Market Square with the Renaissance Cloth Hall; St Mary’s Church, with Europe’s largest Gothic altarpiece, a masterpiece by the Nuremberg master Veit Stoss; Collegium Maius, the fifteenth-century building of Krakow’s university, the Wawel Royal Castle and Wawel Cathedral.
afternoon Transfer to the airport. Flight back home.
