Traditional Christmas in the High Tatras: Krakow - Zakopane - Levoca - Spiska Sobota - Kiezmarok - Zakopane - Krakow 

The Christmas season is rich in various religious and folk traditions. It is celebrated most notably in the south of Poland in the region of the only high mountain range in Poland - the Tatra Mountains.
The trip allows you to get acquainted with Polish Christmas customs in the beautiful winter landscape of the High Tatras.
The trip starts in Krakow with a visit to one of the biggest Christmas markets in Poland, a visit to the Christmas crib exhibition in the historical museum before continuing with a rich program in the most famous holiday resort of the Tatra Mountains - Zakopane. The program also includes a one-day excursion to the southern part of the Tatras - Slovakia with a visit to a pearl of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, the town of Levoča, where Pavel from Levoč created at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries.
The program also includes a ride on the highest cable car in Poland - Kasprowy Wierch, from which the magnificent panorama of the High Tatras unfolds, and a sleigh ride in one of the most beautiful Tatra valleys.
As the best time for this trip, we suggest the dates 22 December to 28 December.
It is possible to extend your stay individually, to spend New Year's Eve and welcome the New Year in the beautiful landscape of the High Tatras in Zakopane.

Itinerary:

1st day Krakow
morning Individual arrival to Krakow. Meeting with Marco the Pole tour guide. Hotel accommodation in Krakow. Lunch at the hotel restaurant.
afternoon "Arch-Polish Cracow- between Rome, Vienna, and Nuremberg" - city tour in the Old Town of Cracow (Market Square, St. Mary's Church, University District, Old Town alleys, Wawel Castle; afterward a visit to the largest Christmas market in Poland - Kracow Market. Time at free disposal.
evening Dinner in the old town restaurant. Overnight stay in Krakow.

2nd day Krakow - Zakopane
morning & afternoon Visit to the Historical Museum of Krakow with the famous nativity scene exhibition. A bus ride from Krakow to Zakopane. On the way lunch in a regional restaurant. Hotel accommodation in a 4* hotel in Zakopane.
First city stroll on the Krupowki city promenade.
evening Dinner in the hotel restaurant. Overnight stay in Zakopane.

3rd day Zakopane 
morning Half-day hike in one of the most beautiful Tatra valleys, Dolina Koscieliska /approx. 1,5 h hike/ with Tatra mountain guide. Lunch in the restaurant of the mountain hut Ornak. Return to the bus and transfer to the hotel.
afternoon Preparation for the festive Christmas dinner. Discussion on the topic: "Polish Christmas traditions". 17.00 Festive Christmas dinner in the hotel restaurant with a 12-course menu of Polish cuisine.
evening Concert of Christmas carols /faculty/. Visit at midnight in a church. Participation in the famous Christmas mass, the so-called "Pasterka" with traditional goral costumes, songs, and customs /optional/. Overnight stay in Zakopane.

4th day Zakopane - Levoca - Spiska Sobota - Kiezmarok - Zakopane
morning Day trip to the Spiš region in Slovakia - bus ride from Zakopane to Levoca - walk in the medieval town with a visit to St. Jacob's Church. Continuation to Spiska Sobota - walk through the beautiful old town center. Lunch in a local restaurant in Spiska Sobota.
afternoon On the return journey visit to Kiezmarok - old town and articulate church. Return journey to Zakopane.
evening Dinner in the hotel restaurant. Overnight stay in Zakopane.

5th day Zakopane
morning Sightseeing tour in Zakopane - visit to the cemetery and church Peksowy Brzyzek, cable car ride on Kasprowy Wierch - walk with the panoramic view of the most beautiful peaks of the High Tatras. Return trip. Lunch in a local restaurant.
afternoon Horse-drawn sleigh ride through the surroundings of Zakopane with mulled wine by the campfire.
evening Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

6th day Zakopane - Dębno - Krakow
morning Drive from Zakopane to Dębno - visit of the oldest wooden church in Poland. The church in Dębno from the XV century is known for its remarkable gothic murals.
afternoon Return to Krakow and individual flights home from Krakow's airport.
