Warsaw City Break

Warsaw/Warszawa - the capital of Poland with approx. 1.8 million inhabitants. Once almost completely razed to the ground, today beautifully rebuilt and constantly evolving - Warsaw, holds countless traces of history and is one of the most important vessels of Polish culture. The marks of war are still visible in the city's infrastructure and its citizens' consciousness, which however doesn't stop Poland's capital from beaming with life and unique beauty of mixed eras, architectural styles, and cultures.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Old Town

morning Arrival in Warsaw, hotel check-in.
afternoon City tour: The tragedy of war - a tour of the Old Town, beautifully rebuilt after the destruction of the war (UNESCO list), Socialist Heritage: Josef Stalin's Palace of Culture, a bird's eye view of the old and the new city from its viewing platform.
evening Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 Ghetto and Museum of the Warsaw Uprising
morning Ghetto Uprising and Warsaw Uprising. Tour of the territory of Ghetto, Ghetto Heroes Monument and Transhipment Point. A visit to the impressive Museum of the Warsaw Uprising.
afternoon Visit to the splendid Royal Palace, which was rebuilt after the destruction of the Second World War. Rest of the afternoon at your disposal.
evening Dinner in an old town restaurant.

Day 3 Praga district and Royal Park Lazienki
morning A walk through the Praga district, a former workers' quarter, where today the cultural scene of Warsaw is established. A visit to an alternative art gallery or museum of your choice (e.g. PRL Museum which shows daily life in communist Poland, the Neon Museum, the Bread Museum). Possibility of visiting the Warsaw Zoo with the Żabiński villa, in which escaped prisoners from the Warsaw Ghetto were hiding.
afternoon Free time in the historic Royal Park Lazienki, with a characteristic Frederic Chopin monument. Relax, explore the vast area or visit the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art.
evening Dinner and exclusive Chopin - piano concert in a historical room in the old town.

Day 4
morning After breakfast hotel check - out, airport transport and flight home.
