Kiev - past and present in 5 days - Trip to Kiev.


1st day - Kiev
morning Arrival in Kiev. Meeting with your tour leader at the airport. Transfer to the hotel, check-in.
afternoon Guided sightseeing tour of the city including a visit to St. Vladimir Cathedral - the traditional for Russian architecture six-columned temple with seven domes. The facade is decorated with mosaics. See also Golden GatesSt. Sophia and St. Michel Squares.
evening Dinner and overnight in Kiev.

2nd day - Kiev
morning Excursion to see the magnificent Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra Monastery topped with gilded domes situated on the high hills of the right bank of the River Dnepr. Visit to Museum of Historical Treasures, Exhibition of Microminiatures, Bell Tower and Caves.
afternoon Time at leisure.
evening Dinner and overnight in Kiev.

3rd day - Kiev
morning A visit to St. Sophia Cathedral and Monastery Complex - the world famous historical and architectural monument from the first half of the 11th century. The name of the cathedral derives from the Greek word “sofia” meaning “wisdom”. It used to serve as a social, political and cultural center of Kievan Rus, the foreign ambassadors were received there, chronicles were recorded and the first Russian library, founded by Yaroslav the Wise himself, functioned there as well.
afternoon Tour through the “Ancient City”. Visit to St. Andrew’s Church, a walk along Andriyivskyy Descent - one of the oldest Kyiv streets, the so-called “Kyiv’s Montmartre”, with a variety of art galleries and shops, the traditional place where outdoor festivals and concerts are held.
evening Dinner and overnight in Kiev.

4th day - Pirogovo
morning A trip to Open-air Museum of Folk Architecture and Habitat in Pirogovo.
afternoon Time at leisure.
evening Dinner and overnight in Kiev.

5th day - Departure from Kiev
morning Breakfast, hotel check-out and transfer to the airport.
